Setting how status can be changed in Opter Driver for iOS

By default, drivers can change the status of tasks in the shipment list. This means that the driver can change the status of the shipment without seeing all the information displayed in the detail view. The driver can also confirm shipments directly from notifications.

Note:

In the task list, it is only possible to change the status to the next status in the lifecycle.

It can be set up so that the driver cannot change the status of a shipment in the shipment list. This means the driver cannot change the status of several shipments at the same time. To change the status, the driver must open the shipment in the detail view. This means that the driver can only change the status of one mission at a time if you have made this setting. You can also set whether the drivers in the detail view should be able to select any status in the lifecycle, or only the next status in the lifecycle.

It is also possible to set whether drivers should only be able to change to the status Picked up and/or Delivered by scanning.

Setting how the driver can change the status

Proceed as follows to set how the status can be changed:

In Opter, click on Settings > Mobile data > Settings mobile data.
Click on an empty row in the Name column and then on the down arrow in the row being added.
Select SetMultipleStatusPermission from the list.
Enter one of the following in the cell to the right:
- ”True” (default): The driver can change the status of the missions in the mission list. This means that the driver can change the status of the shipment without seeing all the information displayed in the detail view.
  The driver can change the status of several missions at the same time in the mission list, if the missions have the same status.
  For Opter Driver for iOS version 2.3.8 and earlier
  The driver can also confirm shipments directly from notifications. (As of version 2.4.3, this is controlled by SetStatusConfirmedInShipmentListPermission instead.)
  Tip
  As of Opter Driver version 2.4.3, you can also do the following:
  - It is possible to define exceptions for the status Picked up and/or Delivered, so that the driver has to go into the detail view (one shipment at a time) in order to change the status to Picked up and/or Delivered. Set SetStatusPickedUpInShipmentListPermission and/or SetStatusDeliveredInShipmentListPermission to "False".
  - It is also possible to set whether drivers can change to the Picked up and/or Delivered status only by scanning. In this case, set ManualStatusChangePickUpPermission and/or ManualStatusChangeDeliveryPermission to "False". For more information, see Mobile data settings (window).
- “False”: The driver cannot change the status of the missions directly in the mission list. This means the driver cannot change the status of several shipments at the same time. To change the status, the driver must open the shipment in the detail view. So the driver can only change the status of one shipment at a time.
  For Opter Driver for iOS version 2.3.8 and earlier
  The driver cannot confirm orders directly from notifications. (As of version 2.4.3, this is controlled by SetStatusConfirmedInShipmentListPermission instead.)
Click on Save.

If no value is specified for SetMultipleStatusPermission, it will be treated as “True”. If you change the setting for SetMultipleStatusPermission and/or any other mobile data setting, the changes will apply in the app from the next time drivers log in.

Setting how the driver can confirm orders

The mobile data setting SetStatusConfirmedInShipmentListPermission controls whether drivers can confirm assignments without having seen all the information displayed in the detail view. It does not matter what setting you have made for SetMultipleStatusPermission (true/false), as it does not check new missions. (However, there is an exception for Opter Driver for iOS version 2.3.8 and earlier, see below.)

To set up how drivers can confirm new assignments, follow these steps:

In Opter, click on Settings > Mobile data > Settings mobile data.
Click on an empty row in the Name column and then on the down arrow in the row being added.
Select SetStatusConfirmedInShipmentListPermission from the list.
Enter one of the following in the cell to the right:
- ”True” (default): The driver can change the status to Confirmed on one mission at a time or on several missions simultaneously in the mission list. This means that the driver can switch the status to Confirmed on mission without seeing all the information displayed in the detail view.
  The driver can also confirm shipments directly from notifications.
  For Opter Driver for iOS version 2.3.8 and earlier
  Whether or not the driver can confirm assignments directly from notifications is instead controlled by SetMultipleStatusPermission, see Setting how the driver can change status above. (As of version 2.4.3, this is controlled by SetStatusConfirmedInShipmentListPermission.)
- “False”: The driver cannot change status to Confirmed on missions in the mission list. This means that the driver cannot change the status to Confirmed on several missions at the same time. Nor can the driver confirm shipments directly from notifications. To change the status to Confirmed, the driver must open the mission in the detail view. The driver can only change the status to Confirmed on one mission at a time.
  For Opter Driver for iOS version 2.3.8 and earlier
  Whether or not the driver can confirm assignments directly from notifications is instead controlled by SetMultipleStatusPermission, see Setting how the driver can change status above. (As of version 2.4.3, this is controlled by SetStatusConfirmedInShipmentListPermission.)
Click on Save.

If you change the setting of SetStatusConfirmedInShipmentListPermission, the change applies in the app from the next time drivers log in.

Set whether the driver can choose any status in the lifecycle

You can also set whether the drivers in the detail view should be able to select any status in the lifecycle, or only the next status in the lifecycle.

Note:

In the task list, it is only possible to change the status to the next status in the lifecycle.

To set whether drivers can select any status in the lifecycle in the detail view, do the following:

In Opter, click on Settings > Mobile data > Settings mobile data.
Click on an empty row in the Name column and then on the down arrow in the row being added.
Select SetArbitraryStatusPermission from the list and type one of the following in the cell on the right:
- ”True” (default): In the detailed view, the driver can select any status in the lifecycle, by pressing the menu, pressing the Change status button and then pressing the desired status in the list that appears.
- “False”: The driver can only change the status to the next status in the life cycle. For example, if a shipment is currently in status Picked up, it can only be changed to status Delivered.
Click on Save.

If the setting for SetArbitraryStatusPermission is changed, the change will apply in the app from the next time the drivers log in.
