Opter Terminal for Android

Opter Terminal is an app that is linked to Opter and is used to scan barcodes and QR codes on freight bills and packages at terminals. Load carriers can also be scanned, if the load carrier function is activated.

For the average user, the data consumption resulting from our apps is typically less than 3 MB per device per month. Other common activities, such as surfing, administering email or watching video clips, usually consume much more than this.

Hardware

Opter Terminal can be installed on all mobile phones with Android 5.0 or later. The phone’s built-in camera can be used for scanning, or a standalone Bluetooth scanner together with the app.

In addition to mobile phones, Opter Terminal can be installed directly on the following scanners:

  • Datalogic Memor 10 and Memor 11

  • Handheld Nautiz X2

  • Honeywell CT40, CT45, CT60 and EDA52

  • Newland NFT10

  • Panasonic Toughbook FZ-N1

  • Zebra TC26 and TC57

Features

The following types of scans, known as scan directions, can be carried out in Opter Terminal:

  • Scan incoming: scanning goods arriving at the terminal.
  • Scan outgoing: scanning goods leaving the terminal.

  • Deviations: scanning goods to register deviations. For more information, see Registering deviations in Opter Terminal.

  • Floor check: scanning goods that are already at the terminal.

  • Fill load carrier: Scanning of load carriers. For more information, see Load carrier and Handling load carriers in Opter Terminal.

  • Proof of delivery: scanning goods collected by the receiver directly from the terminal.

  • Print: scanning goods to print a package label, freight bill, sequence label or shipment list. For more information, see Printout scanning in Opter Terminal.

  • QR: scanning a QR code with scan settings. Used if several people are helping to scan the same load. For more information, see Batch scanning in Opter Terminal.

The result of the scan modifies the orders in the system in line with the scan direction selected, for example, the status is changed during arrival scans and a proof of delivery is registered during delivery scans. However, no information is saved locally in the app.

The menu options and information displayed in the app can be set by the system administrator. For more information, see Customising the layout and features of Opter Terminal with Terminal.Settings.
