Batch scanning in Opter Terminal
If several people are going to help scan a batch of packages, you can create a QR code with the settings for the scan batch. Then everyone can use the QR code to load the scan settings instead of configuring them manually in Opter Terminal. This ensures that everyone uses the same settings for scanning.
You can create the scan settings in Opter and then print a QR code, or display it as a PDF file on the screen. The dispatcher can also configure the scan settings and send you the QR code.
The ID of the scan batch is stored in the database so that it is possible to see which collision scans have been performed in that particular batch. The ID consists of a serial number and the date and time when the scan batch was created, for example “2 2021-10-20 10.48.23”.
The system administrator must have enabled the Activating scanning of QR codes in Opter Terminal.
menu option on the main menu in Opter Terminal in order to allow the QR code with the settings to be scanned. For more information, seeCreate the scan settings in Opter
The scan settings are created in Opter instead of in Opter Terminal. Proceed as follows:
- Click on Register > Print out of control code for terminal app.
- Select [Next available ID] from the Batch drop-down list.
Select the direction (type of scan to be performed), and the terminal on which the scans will be carried out.
Choose whether packages or freight bills should be scanned. Other settings are optional. For more information about the settings, see Print out of control code for terminal app, window.
- Click on Print QR code and settings. You can either print on paper or as a PDF file and scan from the computer screen.
Note:
It is not possible to save the batch settings. To create new ones, change the settings and click on Print QR code and settings. Batches from earlier in the day can be selected from the Batch drop-down list, but their settings are not loaded.
Load the settings and scan parcels/waybills
Click on Register deviation page is displayed.
in the main menu of Opter Terminal and scan the QR code using the scan settings you created in step 1. The scan settings are loaded and theIf you don't want to register a discrepancy, go to Cancel and scan the parcels or waybills in the batch as usual.
If you want to register the same discrepancy for all packages or waybills in the batch that you will scan, make the settings for the discrepancy and press Save. For more information, see Registering deviations in Opter Terminal.
If you scan parcels, the discrepancy is recorded on all parcels that you scan.
If you scan waybills, the discrepancy is recorded on the orders with those waybill numbers.
Note:The discrepancy is only registered for the parcels/waybills scanned with the device on which you create the discrepancy. The discrepancy is therefore not recorded for the whole batch.
For example, if three people each scan 40 parcels in a batch of 120 parcels, and one person has recorded a discrepancy, then that discrepancy is only recorded on the 40 parcels that person scans.
Once you have scanned all the parcels in the batch, finish the scan as usual.
Once all the parcels in the batch have been scanned, you can scan another QR code to load new settings directly. You do not need to press Done and select from the main menu to load new settings. The app recognises that it is a QR code with scanning settings.
