Text message format, window

Settings > Mobile data > Settings mobile data > Edit next to SMS.Design

This window is used to create a template for the SMS that can be sent by right-clicking on a shipment in dispatch and selecting Send shipment as SMS. See Sending an SMS manually from dispatch for examples of how a message can be structured.

Add and delete rows in the same way as in the mobile data settings (see Mobile data settings (window)). Click on the blank row at the bottom to add a row. Then click on the down arrow to select a tag from the list, or enter free text. Select the entire row and press Delete to delete a row. It may be necessary to increase the row height in order to select the row.

FunctionDescription
Field

Can contain either free text or a tag that retrieves information from the shipment. It is not possible to both enter free text and use a tag on the same row in this table.

Free text is written in single quotes (’), for example “‘Shipment from Courier Services Ltd\n’” (“\n” = new line).

To combine free text and tags, or several tags, on the same line in the SMS, enter everything on several lines here without using any line breaks in the Following text column.

Length

Enter the maximum number of characters for the text in Field. The text is cut at the number you specify. If the receiver’s name (ADR_AddrLine1To) is “ Eriksdalsskolan”, and “10” is entered in this column, “Eriksdalss” will be shown in the message.

Warning!

The tags StatusPickupUpdateLink and StatusDeliveryUpdateLink become unusable if they are cut because they print links.

Following text

Can only contain free text, not tags. Single quotation marks do not need to be added around the text. The text is added immediately after the text in Field so it should be preceded by a space or a new line (“\n”). Example: “\nRgds, Courier Services Ltd\n”.

Move up

Move down

Moves the rows up/down in the list depending on where they are to be displayed in the message.

Close

The rest of Opter is locked when this window is open. It must be closed in order to continue working.

Tags in the Field column

The tags usually retrieve information from the shipment that is right-clicked in dispatch, not in the order.
