Activating the Pixie SMS service

The SMS service used in Opter is Pixie. In order to send notifications via SMS, an account must be registered there, at www.pixie.se.

Note:

An account should be registered in the old Pixie system.

Once the login credentials have been received, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on Settings > Offices and go to the Servers tab.
  2. Select the Use Http SMS checkbox. The fields that must be filled in are yellow.
  3. In the SMS sender field, enter what you want to appear as the sender in the notifications. Maximum 11 characters. Letters and numbers (A-Z and 0-9) can be used.
  4. In the Default country calling codes field, enter the country code to be used if none has been entered for the telephone number to which the notification should be sent. You can enter the country code as "46" or "0046", but not "+46". If there is a country code already stated in the telephone number to which the notification is to be sent, that country code is used instead of the one that is entered here.
  5. Enter the username and password for the Pixie service that you received when you registered, in the SMS Id and SMS password fields.
  6. Click on to save all changes.

Check that the SMS service is working

  1. Click on SettingsOffices > on the Servers tab.
  2. Click on Test SMS to the right of the Use Http SMS field. The SMS test dialogue box opens.
  3. Enter a mobile number and click on Send.

If the fields have been filled in correctly, a confirmation will appear and a test message will be sent to the telephone number that was entered.
