Introduction to notifications
A notification is a message containing information about an order that is sent to customers, customer references, senders, receivers and others, by either email or SMS. Some notifications require action by the people who receive them, for example, that the receiver should choose a date for a home delivery. You decide what information the notification should contain and how it should be sent (manually or automatically, by email or SMS).
Step 1: Create a report with the text that the notification should contain
A completely new report can be created or an existing one adapted. Several different reports for different notifications can be created.
Step 2: Link the report to the notification that is to be sent
Opter has a number of fixed notifications to which the reports are linked. This makes it possible to use the same report for several notifications or to customise reports for the various notifications.

Step 3: Configure the SMS service
Notifications can be sent to the email address or telephone number registered in the customer registry or on the order, or to any other address or number. In order to send notifications via SMS, an account at Pixie is required.
Step 4: Send the notification automatically or manually
Notifications can be sent automatically for certain events in the order, or manually. Manual notifications to customers, customer references, senders, receivers and others can be sent from order reception, and manual notifications to the receiver can also be sent from dispatch or order check.

The notification log
The notification log shows all the notifications that have been sent out for the order, and notifications that have failed to be sent out. For more information about the notification log, see Order log, order reception.
