Setting the time interval for automatic SMS notifications
Automatic SMS notifications can be set to only be sent between certain times of the day. For example, it may be a good idea not to disturb receivers with notifications sent at night. For example, if a loading takes place at 03:00 am and notification should be provided via an automatic SMS, that SMS notification will not be sent until the time window opens, for example at 08:00 am.
This function requires the Pixie service for SMS via HTTP to have been configured, see Activating the Pixie SMS service.
The time intervals (time windows) can be set at two levels:
- Office settings: applies to all SMS notifications for all orders.
- For each service: applies to SMS notifications for orders with that particular service.
Setting a time interval for a service overrides the time interval set in the office settings. It is also possible not to configure any office settings and only set times for specific services.
This can be done as follows:
- Click on Settings > Offices and go to the Servers tab.
- Make sure the Use Http SMS checkbox is selected. If it is not, select it and fill in the required fields. For more information, see Activating the Pixie SMS service.
- In the Earliest time for SMS notifications and Latest time for SMS notifications fields, specify a time interval for sending SMS notifications.
Click on to save all changes.
To override the time interval in the office settings for a specific service, proceed as follows:
- Click on Economy > Price lists > Services.
- Select a service and go to the Dispatch tab.
- In the Earliest time for SMS notifications and Latest time for SMS notifications fields, specify a time interval for sending SMS notifications.
Click on to save all changes.
The time interval only applies to automatic SMS notifications. If SMS notifications are sent manually from order reception or dispatch, they go out immediately.
