Applies to Opter Driver for iOS and Opter Driver Labs for Android.

In this Price item

Most of the settings relating to the way the app works, such as what should be mandatory to fill in and which statuses are available for selection, are configured by the dispatcher. But you can adjust some basic settings in the app. These settings apply only on the device on which they are set.

The settings can be found in the app in one of the following ways:

  • From the shipment page, tap in the top-right corner and select Settings.

  • If you are on the profile page, tap Settings in the top-right corner.

  • From the login page, tap Settings in the top-right corner.

The following applies as of version 2.4.24:

    • The settings Hide future shipments, Hide locked shipments and Turn off GPS are not displayed when you open the Settings page without being logged in.

    • If you log in to the app and click on in the top right-hand corner and select Settings, all the settings will be displayed (see list below). If the settings Hide future shipments, Hide locked shipments and Turn off GPS are not displayed even though you have logged in, then the system administrator has chosen not to display them.

When you are done with the settings, press Close, the settings will be saved and the page will close.

Function Description

Version

The top of the page shows which version of Opter Driver you have, see (A) in the image above. For example, version "2.4.23".

We recommend that you always use the latest version of the app, as it is continuously improved.

Open system settings

Information about the app is displayed. For example, it is possible to view and change permissions for the camera, notifications/alerts and location access.

Save password

The username is always saved. If this option is selected, the password will also be saved to make it easier to log in.

Hide future shipments

Shipments that are to be carried out the next day or further ahead are hidden. Only the current day’s shipments are shown in the app.

If the working session extends beyond midnight, shipments are hidden after 00.00 if this option is selected.

Valid as of version 2.4.24:

The setting Hide future shipments is only displayed if you are logged in to the app and if the system administrator has chosen for the setting to be displayed.

Hide locked shipments

The dispatcher can define that shipments are to be locked as long as the previous shipment on the order has not yet been unloaded. If you tick this option, locked shipments will not appear in the app. For more information, see Pages, tabs and menus in Opter Driver.

Valid as of version 2.4.24:

The setting Hide locked shipments is only displayed if you are logged in to the app and if the system administrator has chosen for the setting to be displayed.

Turn off GPS

Turns off the GPS function. If you turn off the GPS function, your position will not be shown in dispatch.

Valid as of version 2.4.24:

The setting Turn off GPS is only displayed if you are logged in to the app and if the system administrator has chosen for the setting to be displayed.

Hide maps

Hides the maps for the individual shipments in the detail view. The main map (which is accessed by tapping Map in the shipment list) is not hidden; it is always shown.

Use Bluetooth scanner

If you want to use a standalone Bluetooth scanner (instead of your mobile phone's built-in camera), tick this option. Then activate Bluetooth on your mobile device and pair with the Bluetooth scanner.

Valid as of version 2.4.25.

Font size

The size of the text in the app can be adjusted by dragging the slider to the right or left.

Repeat interval for notifications (minutes)

Specify how often notifications should be repeated.

This is how notifications work:

  • When you receive a new shipment, you will be notified immediately, regardless of the setting in the Repeat interval for notifications (minutes) field.

  • If you enter "0" in the field, no notifications are repeated. You will only receive one notification per shipment.

  • For example, if you enter "30" in the field, the notifications will be repeated every half hour.

Server address or Cloud ID

To connect the app to your Opter system, you can do one of the following

  • Tap QR and scan the QR code provided by the system administrator.

  • Tap on the link that you have received from the system administrator via email or SMS.

  • Enter the server address given to you by the system administrator, for example “https://courierservices.opter.cloud:xyz/mobile”.
