Register > Ferries
Ferry lines can be added in this window, and then Departure time, Arrival time and Schedule stated. On the Distance tab, link the ferry lines in Opter to the ferry lines in PTV to get the correct distance. For more information about ferry lines, see Ferry lines.

General
Function | Description |

Name | For example “STO-HEL” in order to show the direction of the ferry, Stockholm to Helsinki. |
Information | Free text field for internal notes. The description is not displayed anywhere else but here.Maximum 50 characters. |
From terminal To terminal | If the choice has been made to define a ferry route as two ports (terminals) and the distance between them, choose the terminals between which the ferry runs. See Automatically split shipments at terminals below. If the ferry line has been defined as the shipments placed on the route, it is not necessary to specify any terminals. |
Automatically split shipments at terminals | Automatically split shipments at terminals is used to set how a ferry is defined in Opter.

Subcontractor | The shipping company the ferry is associated with. If the shipping company is not in the list, click on |
Times
Function | Description |
---|---|
Departure time Arrival time | Enter the departure and arrival time of the ferry. If Automatically split shipments at terminals has been selected, these times will be the start and end times for the ferry shipment. Note: If the ferry departs on different days such as weekdays and weekends, two identical ferry lines, with different departure times, must be created. |
Plus days | If the ferry’s departure and arrival times are not on the same date, enter the number of days it will take. Example: if the departure time is 1 pm on 22 December 2022 and the arrival time is 5 pm on 24 December 2022, enter 2 plus days. |
Schedule | Opens the Schedule window in which the days on which the ferry operates are entered. For more information, see Schedule, ferry lines (window). It is mandatory to create a schedule for the ferry line. |

On this tab, the ferry lines in Opter can be linked to the ferry lines in PTV to get the correct distance. For more information, see PTV. Function | Description |

PTV name | The field will be automatically filled in with the information from PTV once the ferry lines have been found and the Select ferry button clicked. |
PTV ID | The field will be automatically filled in with the information from PTV once the ferry lines have been found and the Select ferry button clicked. |
The Map box | Ferry lines can be searched for in PTV by clicking on one of the ferry line's ports or terminals on the map. The search results are displayed in the Result box. The mouse wheel can be used to zoom in and out of the map. |
The Search box Street/No. Postcode / City Country | Ferry lines can be searched for in PTV by entering the address of one of the ferry line terminals. The search results are displayed in the Result box. |
The Result box | The search result from the map or address is displayed in the Result box. If there are ferry lines in PTV that match the search, they will be displayed like this, for example: "Gothenburg-Frederikshavn". In the Result box, click on the ferry line that matches the ferry line (ferry) that you have selected in the list on the left in the Ferries window. |
The Select ferry button | Click on the button to select the ferry line you have selected in the Result box above. The PTV name and PTV ID fields are then automatically filled with the information from PTV. Click on |
