E-invoices
In this Price item
An e-invoice is an invoice that the recipient can manage directly in their business system. In other words, it is not the same as sending a PDF invoice attached to an email.
In Opter, it is possible to use e-invoices for various customers. This requires Opter to be able to export the invoices in a format that the receiver can use. Contact for more information.
Peppol
Peppol is an EU standard for e-invoices (also used in Norway, where it is called EHF, Electronic Commerce Format). Peppol consists of a network of operators called VAN operators. In order to send a Peppol invoice, you must send it to a VAN operator. VAN operators are interconnected, so the VAN operator you send the invoice to always knows which VAN operator the invoice recipient has, and forwards the invoice to that operator. Opter is not a VAN operator so you will need an agreement with one. In Norway, the most common VAN operators are Addoro/21Grams and efacto, in Sweden Addoro/21 Grams and Inexchange, in Denmark Sproom and in Finland Maventa. Opter can send Peppol invoices to most VAN operators, but not, for example, Fortnox and Visma, as invoice processing is an integral part of those financial systems.
When an invoice is created in Opter, the basic data of the invoice is converted into Peppol format and sent to your VAN operator. The VAN operator checks that the content of the invoice complies with the Peppol regulations. If the invoice is approved, it is forwarded to the recipient's VAN operator, who forwards it to the recipient. If it is not accepted, you will be notified. VAN operators have different ways of communicating the error. In some cases, an error message may be displayed in Opter, in other cases you may need to log in to the VAN operator's portal. Errors can have simple causes, such as a missing Corporate ID number for the customer being invoiced, but can also be more complicated. If you need help interpreting the error messages, can help.
