The report editor can be opened from the Sõnumid and Aruanded windows, as well as from the preview in all places where reports can be previewed. The report editor consists of a number of menu options and a text field.
Menu options
When editing Tekst and HTML type reports, only the Salvesta and Sulge menu options are available. For Tavaline type reports, the following menu options are available.

| Salvesta | Saves the report. |
| Sisesta pilt | Inserts an image that is available on the computer. |
| Impordi failist | Imports an XML file containing a report that has previously been exported. |
| Ekspordi faili | Exports the report as an XML file. |
| Kontrollige süntaksit | Checks the XML code in the report. If it is not correct, an error message is displayed at the top of the edit window. |
| Rea numbrid | Shows/hides row numbers on the left of the edit field. |
| Vahekaardid | Shows/hides tabs. |
| Ruumid | Shows/hides spaces. |
| Rea lõpp | Shows/hides the end of rows. |
| Search bar | Search in the report, in both the XML code and the text content. |

| Sobitage väike-/SUURTÄHED | The search is case sensitive. |
| Asenda | Displays a text field in which you can enter text to replace what is being searched for. The Asenda button replaces the search result selected in the report. The Asenda kõik button replaces all search results in the report. |
| Kopeeri | Copies selected text. |
| Lõika | Cuts selected text. |
| Kleebi | Pastes copied or cut text. The down arrow can be used to insert what you copied most recently in the report you closed last. |
| Teisenda valitud read kommentaarideks | Converts text to a comment in the XML code. Comments do not appear in the generated printout or message. |
| Teisendage valitud read tavaliseks tekstiks | Converts comments to text in the XML code. The entire comment must be selected, including <!-- and -->, for the comment to be converted. The text converted from a comment appears in the generated printout or message. |
| Sissepoole | Inserts indents for each level in the XML code. |
| Väljapoole | Deletes all indents. |
Text field
The appearance of the text field differs slightly depending on the type of report being edited.

Tavaline: a field with colour marking in accordance with XML syntax.

Tekst: a free text field for the entire message.

HTML: divided into subject line and body text.
In the text field, type what will be displayed when the report is generated. In addition to plain text, you can add tags that retrieve information from Opter, such as times and names.
Information about the report is available at the bottom of the window.
