Configuring main POD types and sub-POD types

If you have a large number of POD types (proof of delivery types), it may be difficult for the user to select the correct POD type. The POD (proof of delivery) can therefore be configured to be registered in two steps; to do this the user first selects a main POD type and then a sub-POD type.

Step 1: Create and configure the main POD type

To create and configure a main POD type, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on Settings > Proof of delivery (POD) > Proof of delivery types.

  2. Click on the proof of delivery type for which the settings are to be configured in the list on the left, or click on the left-hand one of the two to create a new POD type.

  3. Configure the settings for the proof of delivery type on the General tab. For information about the fields and checkboxes on the General tab, see Proof of delivery types (window).
    To make this POD type a main POD type, proceed as follows:

    • Main POD type: Select [None].

    • Show Sub POD types: Select the checkbox if you want the sub-POD types of this main POD type to be displayed to the user when they register a POD of this POD type.

    • Require Sub-POD-type: Select the checkbox if you want to force the user to specify a sub-POD type for this main POD type.

  4. Click on to save all changes.

Step 2: Create and configure the sub-POD type

To create and configure a sub-POD type, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on Settings > Proof of delivery (POD) > Proof of delivery types.

  2. Click on the proof of delivery type for which the settings are to be configured in the list on the left, or click on the right-hand one of the two to create a new sub-POD type.

  3. Configure the settings for the proof of delivery type on the General tab. For information about the fields and checkboxes on the General tab, see Proof of delivery types (window).

    To make this POD type a sub-POD type, proceed as follows:

    • Main POD type: Select the main POD type to which the sub-POD type should belong.

    • Use main POD type settings: Select the checkbox if you want this sub-POD type to have the same settings as its main POD type.

  4. Click on to save all changes.
