GPS tracker from GSFleet

It is possible to use GSFleet tracking devices for positioning vehicles in Opter. More information is available on the GSFleet website.

When the tracking transmitter has been installed on the vehicle and activated in Opter, the vehicle’s position, speed, direction of travel and altitude can be viewed on the map in dispatch. The positioning from Opter Driver is deactivated as long as the positioning from Spotguard is active. If there are no more positions coming from Spotguard, the positioning from Opter Driver is reactivated.

Step 1: Activate the mobile device type Guard Systems

In order to configure the tracker in the vehicle register, the device type must be activated. It is deactivated by default.

  1. Click on Settings > Mobile data > Mobile device types.

  2. Click on Show > Show inactive.

  3. Select Guard Systems in the list and click on in the toolbar.

Guard Systems now appears in the table of mobile devices on the Mobile/web tab of the vehicle registry.

Step 2: Mobile data settings for communication with the devices

Three mobile data settings have to be added to enable Opter to communicate with the devices. If you do not know your login details, please contact GSFleet.

  • GuardSystems.Username: User name for the GSFleet account.

  • GuardSystems.Password: Password for the GSFleet account.

  • GuardSystems.Customer: Your GSFleet customer ID.

For information on how to add Mobile data settings, see Mobile data settings (window).

Step 3: Enter the unit’s ID for the vehicle in the vehicle registry

Contact GSGroup if you do not know the unit’s ID.

  1. Click on Register > Vehicles.

  2. Go to the Mobile/web tab and enter the ID in the Address column.

  3. Make sure the Active checkbox is selected.

The video shows how to set up trackers for Postrack, but it is the same for Spotguard.
