Importing address registries
In address fields in Opter, for example in order reception and on the customer website, a suggested address can be obtained when, for example, a postcode is entered. In order to obtain such suggestions, address information needs to be imported. Several different address information files can be imported, for example for different countries.
To keep your address information up to date, we recommend that you import the address information files at regular intervals. If a street cannot be found in Opter, it is probably because the address registry is out of date.
Addresses manually entered by users in order reception and in the web portals are saved in a temporary address registry and are also displayed as suggestions in the address fields. These addresses are not deleted when a new address information file is imported.
It can take a long time, up to 50 hours, to import new addresses because the address information files are often very large.
Step 1: Download the address information file that is to be imported
The address files can be in different formats and look different for different countries.

If Danish addresses are required, download a CSV file from AWS 4 Download. The file with the entire Danish address registry can be found at the bottom of the page under the heading “Danish adgangsadresser”. The file is updated every year, so we recommend that the updated file is downloaded and imported into Opter once a year to keep the address information up to date.

If Estonian addresses are required, download the file sihtnumbrid.zip from geoportaal.maaamet.ee (click on “Postal codes” under “Free download” on the right). The file contains address data in the CSV format with postcodes and is updated once a month, so we recommend that it is downloaded and imported at regular intervals to keep the address information up to date.

If Finnish addresses are required, download the latest base address file, BAF_<yyyymmdd>.zip, from Posti’s website. The file is updated weekly, so we recommend that it is downloaded and imported at regular intervals to keep the address information up to date. For more information, see https://www.posti.fi/en/customer-support/postal-code-services.

Norwegian address registries can be purchased from Geposit or Bring. For more information about the Norwegian address registry provided by Geposit, please contact them. For more information about Bring’s Gateregister, see https://www.bring.no/tjenester/adressetjenester/adresseregistre (in Norwegian).
It is also possible to download a postcode registry from Bring free of charge as a tab-separated TXT file, but it only contains postcodes and towns/cities, not full addresses. For more information about this file, see https://www.bring.no/tjenester/adressetjenester/postnummer (in Norwegian).
Both the suppliers’ files are updated regularly, so we recommend that they are downloaded and imported at regular intervals to keep the address information up to date.

If Swedish addresses are required, the Swedish addresses file (Sverigefilen) can be purchased from Geposit. For more information, see https://geposit.se/sv/developer/file-contents (in Swedish). Download the file in CSV format. The file is updated regularly, so we recommend that it is downloaded and imported at regular intervals to keep the address information up to date.
Step 2: Configure the settings for the import
Click on Settings > Address import and configure the settings for the country for which addresses are being imported.

Step 3: Import the address information file
Click on Start in the Address Import window to start the import. A preview opens. If the address rows appear to be correct, click on Import. Opter checks the format of the file, deletes existing addresses for the country in question (addresses entered in order reception and the web portals, and the temporary address registry, are not deleted) and then imports the new addresses.
The status of the import is displayed in the Address Import window. When the import has finished, the window can be closed.
