Resource value

Normally, commission is deducted from the price to be paid by the customer in order to determine the cost to be credited, which is the resource price.

If a resource value is specified in the price list or for the price item, the commission is deducted from that instead and the resource value is displayed instead of the price on the resource webs and the credit. The difference between the price and the resource value is called the diff.

The resource value is used to withhold or give extra money in cases where the customer price does not quite correctly reflect the supplier’s share before commission.

Example with a resource price:

PriceSEK 100Generated, gross
Commission10%Commission, resource pricing
Resource priceSEK 90Earned, net

Example with a resource value:

PriceSEK 100Generated, gross
Resource valueSEK 80Resource value
Commission10%Commission, resource pricing
Resource priceSEK 72Earned, net

The difference between SEK 100 and SEK 80 is booked to a separate account, the “diff account”, also called the price difference.
