Creating a discount

Applies up to and including version 2023-07-01.238. The article is no longer updated.

An explanation of how to create a customer discount is provided below. Other types of discounts can be created in a similar way.

Tips!

Use group-specific discounts that you link to customer categories instead of customer-specific discounts. Customer-specific discounts can be difficult to track down and use at a later date.

Proceed as follows to create a customer discount:

  1. Click on Economy > Price lists and open the Price lists folder in the tree on the left.
  2. Expand the price list you want to work on and open the Discounts folder in the price list.
  3. Select the discount group to work on. To give the discount to a customer category, click on the Customer specific discount group and use the search function on the right of the window to find the right customer.
  4. After finding the customer in the search, a list of customers was created in the tree structure on the left. Select the customer you want to give a discount to by marking it in the tree.

If the customer has a to the left of the name, it means that the customer already has discounts.

  5. Click on in the toolbar.
  6. On the Price adjustments tab in the Name field give the discount a descriptive name, such as “Truck 10%”.
  7. In the Price Type drop-down list, choose whether the discount should apply per order or for a specific extra, expense or price item.
  8. In the Price box, enter the discount with a minus sign, but without a percentage sign. Use the option (radio) buttons to select the type of discount.
  9. On the Conditions tab, enter the conditions, if any, that will apply to the discount. If you specify several conditions for a discount, all the conditions must be met for the customer to receive the discount.
  10. Click on the Specific conditions tab.

For example, if the order price type was selected, make further selections in the Price collection box.

For example, if price item price type was selected, select the price item on which the discount will apply from the Price Item box.

  11. Click on to save all changes.

Multiple discounts can be created for the same customer by selecting the customer again and clicking on .

Obs!

If you have several discounts in a discount group, their order is significant. Opter looks at the discounts from the top to the bottom of the list. If the conditions for a discount are met, it is used, if not, Opter checks the next discount in the list.

Click on a discount and use the arrows at the top of the window to move it up or down.

Example:

Transport Company Ltd has two discounts:

In order for the “Under 100 kg 20%” discount to be used, it must be located above the “All transport 10%” discount. This is because the conditions for “All transport 10%” will always be met. If it is at the top, Opter will always use it and will not go down to the next discount, “Under 100 kg 20%”, in the list.
