Settings > Order reception > Order rules

Order rules allow you to apply certain settings automatically to orders where a specific customer is listed as the ordering customer, sender or recipient. For the order rules to apply, Apply rules must be ticked in the order settings (the tab General).

The order rules apply only when you create an order in the order reception system, not via EDI or in Opter Driver.

Triggers

Here you can set the conditions that must be met for the settings to take effect. You can only fill in one of the fields as a condition.

Function

Customer sender

The customer whose name appears in the ‘From’ address field in the order reception, field Customer code/Customer number.

Customer receiver

Results

Here you can configure the settings that are to be applied automatically when the rule’s condition is met.

Function

Description

Payer

In this context, ‘payer’ is the same as ‘customer’. The customer and sender addresses are filled in automatically when the order is received at the order reception.

Customer sender

By default, the customer’s address is also used as the return address when you create an order. With this setting, you can automatically set a different sender address when you enter a specific customer or recipient.

Vehicle type

The field is called Vehicle type in the order reception system, but contains price vehicle types.

Order setting

The same as ‘order settings’.

Example

If several different rules match an order, the rule for the field you last filled in at order reception will be applied.

I have the following rules:

  • The reference customer ‘Opter’ enters the payer ‘Customer 78’ (customer and sender) and ‘Price List 2’ in the order reception.

  • The consignor, ‘IKEA’, sets the ‘IKEA’ price list.

  • The recipient, ‘Kastrup Airport’, has commissioned the ‘Express Courier’ service.

When I enter the ordering customer ‘Opter’ in the order reception system, ‘Customer 78’ is set as the customer and sender, and ‘Price List 2’ is added to the order. If I change the sender to the customer ‘IKEA’, the price list changes to ‘IKEA’ (using the default service), even though the ordering customer is still ‘Opter’ (using the ‘Price List 2’ rule). If I then select ‘Kastrup Airport’ as the recipient, the service changes to ‘Express Delivery’.

The order therefore ends up with the following values, each of which comes from a separate order rule:

  • Customer code (under Customer): “Customer78”

  • Price List: “IKEA”

  • Service Type “Express delivery”
